The cover of the book shows the image of a women looking at lord Shiva. The cover seems to be little outdated of a kind nor it is a eye catching. I felt it below par and could have been improved The title of the book " I am in Love with a Shudh Desi Firangi: Hey Shiva, I See You in Him" is little lengthy for a book , I would have preferred a short and crisp title.
Theme
Lord Shiva is an perfect figure for man. Women do worship lord Shiva in order to get a perfect husband for them. Theme of the book revolves around a beautiful young girl Kattyani , who keeps her family first in every decision she makes. She wanted to focus on her studies and is carrier oriented and wanted to see her parents have a smile on their faces when they think of her and make them proud. Things take a toll when she has a breakup with a person whom she had loved for more than 5 years. More than the breakup the reason which was that she kept her family values and wanted to give her everything to a man whom she married and not before it.
The breakup had a very bad impact on her life and she couldn't perform well in her exams well and she was always down and out. Then we have Binota who was Kattyani exact opposite who married a person from a different religion. But her decision were proved right because of the successes she had as a person and her family.
Binota take Kattyani to Goa where she see Firangi (Foreigner) called "Rudra" from America and falls in love. She sees all the features of her idol Lord Shiva in him. How the relationship between Kattyani and Rudra transforms Kattyani life and make an impact on how she sees the world,
Language and Narration
The language used in the book is just par easy to understand. Even though the plot is simple , the narration of the story and the characterization of the book is highly commendable and it does keeps the story float and make the readers think on what is next in the storyline.
What I Liked and Disliked
The story is simple and cute which could easy be understood by everyone there. The characters in the book support each other well. The couple of things which I felt can be improved is the cover of the book and the title which could be more appealing to readers.
