Cover and Title

The cover of the book shows the image of two people walking in opposite directions and their shadows moving towards each other which makes the title "Shadows of the Past" more meaningful and thoughtful before reading the book. The title "Shadows of the Past" gives the reader the readers a reminiscence of the past.
Theme

The book narrates the story of two people Rehan and Lavanya. Lavanya who is about to get married is narrating her past love story to her roommate Simi how she fell in love with a boy named Rehan. As most of the love stories the ending was not how it should have been expected and Rehan and Lavanya drifted apart from each other. What could be the reason? And does Lavanya still have a feeling for Rehan? In between all these who is Arpita and Gaurav and how do they fit in place to Lavanya's life.
Language and Narration
The language used throughout the book is simple and easy to understand. The narration of the book is par and realistic even though I did feel a tinch of Bollywood masala in the plot, but all together with a quick and nice read.
What I Liked and Disliked
  • The cover and the title of the book is something which I liked very much as it suits the plot.
  • A good editing work could have made the plot even better considering the plot which is been narrated is very good.
