Cover and Title
The cover of the book seems like a book of a fairy tale which shows an image of a person in a boat moving away. There is a diary and a travelling bag in the background. And once you read the plot of the wise man and his diary everything makes sense.
The title of the book - "The Wise Man Said " seems to be more like suspense to the reader on understanding what was told.
Theme
You don't live long enough to learn all your things with your own experience. You need experiences of others where you can learn something and implement it in your own life. The Wise Man Said is one such a treasure which gives us insights into many lessons in life. It gives in detail how to go about things.
The plot starts with how Naina who wishes to publish her book and had a commitment to her publisher and her meeting with Sammy - "The Wise Man" was a turning point in life. Their interaction making a drastic impact on Niana's life as his way of talking seems to be so different and impactful. The wandered Sammy had exchanged his diary for taking Naina's torn scarf. What all does the Dairy tell Naina about life? Will it make an impact and will she be able to find answers to all her questions
Language and Narration
The language used in the book is simple and easy to understand, there are no abstruse words and meeting. Most of it is straight forward to all the readers even beginners. The narration of the book is fluid from start to end and no point where I read I felt a boring thing, to a matter of fact I felt it more and more interesting as the book progressed.
What I Liked and Disliked
There is nothing to point out as con or dislike in the book as everything seems to jell up beautifully. The treasure of words used by Sammy during his conversations made me think a lot.

A sentence which made an impact while reading was
"I come to a place, I live, I learn and then I move on"
