Quest for Paradise – The name of the book is itself an eye-catching one. It narrates a story of a girl who wants to be independent in life against all the hardships in her life, fights all odds in order to fulfill her dreams.The cover shows a girl in a Swing its is beautifully pictured and depicted.
My thought on the plot
I could relate Ishana’s character to a next door neighbor or a friend who wants an independent life and live life to the fullest. The story picturizes girls struggle in the society and social stigmas and fighting all odds Ishana wanted to be the best part of herself and be a professional tattoo artist a field which she loves to be in. The story also depicts a portion of the society where parents even if they are very well educated and in high posh society are against their daughters dreams of being independent and wanted them to get married soon.
The Mumbai packed local trains, rains etc gave me nostalgic feelings about my childhood. The flood also reminded of the Chennai floods which I had faced in sometime near. Ishana loving character is very well picturized very well. The way she wanted to distribute food after the floods The conversations with Vaishakh was heart-filling, I even re-read some of the chapters in the book since it gave me a nostalgic feeling.
The book gives multiple messages to the reader
1. Whatever hardship live gives you, you shouldn’t lose hope and where ever we go there would be someone unexpected who would help you out of the bloom.
2. You would also find people who help you with their own personal hidden agendas – Get rid of from your life as soon as you are aware of them.
